TravelBuddy
A full-stack web app to create, plan and organise trips with a tour guide.
- Role
- Full-Stack Developer & UI Designer
- Team
- University project
- Context
- Web technologies — HM Munich
- Tools
- Next.js, React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, MongoDB

TravelBuddy lets users create, edit and save trips, with data stored in MongoDB. I designed the interface and built the application end to end with Next.js, React and TypeScript. It's the project where I learned what it takes to get from screens to a working product.
The goal
Build a real, data-backed web application from scratch, not a clickable prototype. Users should be able to plan a trip with the help of a tour guide and come back to it later.
What I built
- Trip management. Users create, edit and save trips.
- Persistence. Travel data is stored in and retrieved from a MongoDB database.
- Interface. A clean, image-led UI built with React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS on Next.js.
Why it matters for product work
Building the full stack myself changed how I write requirements. I now know what a "small change" to a data model costs and why edge cases like empty states, validation and errors need to be in the spec, not discovered in QA. That makes me a better partner for engineering teams.
